What seems particularly confusing is that for so many years we have constantly been hearing about research breakthroughs in new drug treatments. Despite all of the 'promising' research, the depressing reality about colon cancer treatment is that chemotherapy actually provides only a 1% contribution to the five-year survival rate of patients! [ 40 ]

Of course it is not only colon cancer that shows such poor treatment results, rather, it is only one example of a chronic condition that is simply not curable. There are so many other types of cancer and other chronic illnesses that are similarly incurable.

In stark contrast to this reality, there are many reports of unapproved alternative therapies having ability to effect cures. Obviously, I researched into these reports to find out if perhaps there was something of importance. I found so many claims and counter claims that without personal experience with each therapy it seemed impossible to make judgement. The absence of scientifically conducted clinical trials makes objective analysis extremely difficult.

However, in the course of my investigations into these therapies I became aware of another class of therapies (non-drug) that were not discussed in mainstream medical literature but which were supported by a significant body of solid scientific research. The potential implications of what I found absolutely blew my mind.

These are therapies based on energetic technologies that produce healing effects, including curing cancers and other chronic illnesses, by interacting with the living energy of our being - and they do this without producing side effects! As a physicist and an electronics engineer I had the kind of scientific background that enabled me to explore the core concepts of this research. So, for the past several years I have been an avid student, researcher and experimenter of this amazing area.

Based on the depth of scientific evidence underpinning this research, I asked the obvious question as to why no energetic therapies had managed to become an approved therapy. The answer is simply that they pose too big a threat to the profits of the pharmaceutical industry.

The fact that energetic therapies are ideally suited for group healing sessions raises the possibility that they could be offered, without charge, through community-clinics worldwide. To make these healing therapies available to communities all around the world, is the mission of The Healing Universe Project.

In introduction, I would like to present an overview of the pioneering work that is being done by The Healing Universe and to explain the background circumstances that make its mission of critical importance to each one of us in a very direct and personal way.

In 1999 I lost my sister and dearest childhood friend to colon cancer. The two years of her illness was a time filled with intense emotions for me as she underwent repeated sessions of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, this is an all too familiar story with every family from all around the world.
